Stew Perry Topband Challenge 2020 Dec 26I believe this is my best score for this contest. Band was very quiet, fortunately for me, since I did not have a receiving antenna. Worked 18 European stations Saturday evening, and managed to work 1 JA station Sunday morning (JH4UYB 6,900 mi.). Thanks for all the calls and repeats when needed, and sorry for those I just could not pull out. FB operators on this band.

Stew Perry Topband Challenge 2020 Dec 26Thanks everyone! Decided to use this as a benchmark BIC session. It was hard...eventually I ended up in a fugue state around 1100Z. Who knows who was logged then, or what grid they were in, so I am anticipating with amusement the log check report.
Bands seemed a bit flat here, but that could also be me. I heard no EU, no HI, and only as far south as ZF (but what a signal from ZF9CW!) Fair openings to the west coast for me. In all, I think I wrung out everything I could from my 120x50' yard and whopping 74 watts (as read on the LP100a.) Looking forward to reading other's reports from this go of the TBDC. It was nice to hear familiar calls, as always. Sorry if I left some of you in the aether, as I battled sporadic xmas light noise in the neighborhood. Many thanks to the Boring ARC and other organizers! See y'all in the next one...Wishing you a healthy and happy 2021! Stew Perry Topband Challenge 2020 Dec 26My first Stew Perry. I had just enough day light to threw up a horizontal wire at 25 feet and tried to make as many contacts as possible. I was surprised at what I could work on 100 watts. Glad I was able to participate and give out some Qs with my simple setup.

Stew Perry Topband Challenge 2020 Dec 26I have a new local noise source that takes out the band when it's on. That made for a simple strategy: run when the noise was off. Good participation and a handful of EU in the log. Furthest west was Hawaii. Wishing all a better 2021!
